With the theme of nuclear power helping to achieve the "dual carbon" goal, the report analyzes the development status and industry data of the global and Chinese nuclear power industry, and makes scientific predictions on the development trend of the nuclear power industry.

 

Pang Songtao, deputy general manager of China General Nuclear Power Group Co., Ltd., said in the report that from a domestic perspective, under the guidance of the national policy of "positive, safe and orderly development of nuclear power", my country's nuclear energy industry has comprehensively promoted high-quality development. Ranked second in the world, the safe operation level of nuclear power in operation has always been at the forefront of the world, and the installed capacity under construction ranks first in the world. Recently, China General Nuclear Power Corporation's "Hualong No. 1" demonstration project and Guangxi Fangchenggang Nuclear Power Plant No. 3 unit have been successfully loaded and operated with nuclear power. Huaneng's Shidaowan high-temperature gas-cooled reactor major project has also achieved the first dual-reactor full-power operation.

From an international perspective, in South Korea, South Africa, Russia, Ukraine, Hungary, France, Finland, the Czech Republic, Belgium, the United States and other countries, nuclear energy is the largest low-carbon energy in the country in 2020, and nuclear energy can reduce carbon emissions for Western developed countries such as Europe and the United States. made a great historical contribution.

Recently, the U.S. Department of Energy announced in a high-profile manner that its nuclear fusion experimental device has achieved a major breakthrough that "the output energy is greater than the input energy". Pang Songtao said that although this achievement is still far from commercialization, it has aroused new hopes for solving energy problems in the world. Nuclear energy is not only an indispensable and important energy source for the goal of carbon neutrality in human society, but also the ultimate energy source for human beings to achieve sustainable development in the future.

Pang Songtao said that achieving high-quality carbon neutrality is a tough battle for the energy industry, and nuclear power, as a clean, low-carbon, safe, and efficient energy source, can do more.
