The "Global Nuclear Energy Industry Development Report" was Officially Released, Nuclear Energy Ushered in a Period of Major Development Opportunities
At the Ninth International Clean Energy Forum Conference and Zero Carbon Island Forum held on the 18th, the "Global Nuclear Energy Industry Development Report" (hereinafter referred to as the report) was officially released. With the theme of nuclear power helping to achieve the "dual carbon" goal, the report analyzes the development status and industry data of the global and Chinese nuclear power industry, and makes scientific predictions on the development trend of the nuclear power industry.
Pang Songtao, deputy general manager of China General Nuclear Power Group Co., Ltd., said in the report that from a domestic perspective, under the guidance of the national policy of "positive, safe and orderly development of nuclear power", my country's nuclear energy industry has comprehensively promoted high-quality development. Ranked second in the world, the safe operation level of nuclear power in operation has always been at the forefront of the world, and the installed capacity under construction ranks first in the world. Recently, China General Nuclear Power Corporation's "Hualong No. 1" demonstration project and Guangxi Fangchenggang Nuclear Power Plant No. 3 unit have been successfully loaded and operated with nuclear power. Huaneng's Shidaowan high-temperature gas-cooled reactor major project has also achieved the first dual-reactor full-power operation.
From an international perspective, in South Korea, South Africa, Russia, Ukraine, Hungary, France, Finland, the Czech Republic, Belgium, the United States and other countries, nuclear energy is the largest low-carbon energy in the country in 2020, and nuclear energy can reduce carbon emissions for Western developed countries such as Europe and the United States. made a great historical contribution.
Recently, the U.S. Department of Energy announced in a high-profile manner that its nuclear fusion experimental device has achieved a major breakthrough that "the output energy is greater than the input energy". Pang Songtao said that although this achievement is still far from commercialization, it has aroused new hopes for solving energy problems in the world. Nuclear energy is not only an indispensable and important energy source for the goal of carbon neutrality in human society, but also the ultimate energy source for human beings to achieve sustainable development in the future.
"Nuclear energy is ushering in a period of major development opportunities. At present, all major economies have clearly and firmly established nuclear energy development strategies, and are determined to move forward on the road of technology research and development. Not only can China not be absent, but also strive to be at the forefront." Pang Songtao said .
Pang Songtao said that achieving high-quality carbon neutrality is a tough battle for the energy industry, and nuclear power, as a clean, low-carbon, safe, and efficient energy source, can do more.
The report also recommends integrating the upstream and downstream capabilities and capital of the nuclear energy industry, integrating the wisdom of experts and scholars in the clean energy industry, further consolidating the cornerstone of the safe development of industrial software and hardware, in-depth cooperation to promote comprehensive self-reliance in nuclear energy technology, and increasing basic and original nuclear energy technology. The R & D efforts will enhance the ability of nuclear energy to serve the country's "carbon neutral" strategy, and seize the high ground for global nuclear energy utilization; actively promote technological innovation and management innovation, and give full play to nuclear energy in comprehensive energy utilization such as power generation, heating, refrigeration, hydrogen production, and seawater desalination The role of carbon emission reduction, promote the development of nuclear energy with digital intelligence, and use "nuclear energy +" to help carbon neutrality in various industries.
The report is nearly 500,000 words long and consists of five chapters: nuclear energy development strategy, high-quality construction and operation, digital transformation and development, high-quality innovation and development, and special reports. At the same time, the book also focuses on the construction of nuclear safety and the research and development of innovative nuclear energy technologies as well as their diversified and extensive applications, clarifying the strategic direction for the future development of the nuclear energy industry.
The report published this time is the twelfth book in the "Clean Energy Blue Book" series supported by the Macau Foundation and Qiming Xinyuan Group and edited by the International Clean Energy Forum (Macao); The first special report jointly published after the special cooperation on quality development.
